Daylight's Savings...

man...i got home way too early tonight but it was nice to just go out to be honest. i got to wear my new shirt which made me feel pretty sexy to be honest. . hehe =) that was fun...i have to admit a like a good shot of grey goose from time to time... i'm gonna have to look into getting myself some =)

i talked to D tonight...he worried me with that comment left on my last entry. . .we talked about things and stuff which was cool. . .its amazing how you can build a friendship with a perfect stranger. to think that i've only known him since June!! (but honestly though, you're too freaking awesome though!) i really hope D eventually moves to Houston for the selfish reason of having another cool person in town to hang out with! (oh yeah, D, i was reading your quote on facebook...saving the world, one liberal at a time! you're gonna have your work cut out with me! hehe =P)

on the topic of friendship, i'm so glad i have a friend like Ricky! i talked to him for quite a while and sometimes talking to people like him (those that i've known forever) really does clear up my feelings about things happening in my life! Ricky is another great life-long friend that i'm defintely grateful for...friends are awesome!!

oh yeah, UT beat Oklahoma St. apparently it wasnt the best of games but we at least beat them in the end 47-28.

i'm gonna go catch up on sleep..i get an extra hour but if i sit here and stay up super duper late, i'll be worthless to me!

Randomness. . .an Update!

well quickly in sports news. . .
Chicago White Sox won the World Series, sweeping the Astros in 4 games. The good guys did a good job holding off the Sox until the 8th inning for a single run but that run ended the Stros run for the pennant! if anything, the Astros showed their awesomeness and I still believe! there's always next year!!

Happier News!! UT squeaked by USC on the BCS polls to be #1. honestly I dont care if we're #1 (but I do!!) as long as we go to the Rose Bowl! I think if my bank account permits, I'm planning on heading out to Pasadena for the game. it'll just be awesome and possibly a one and a lifetime opportunity for me! so thats one of my short-term goals!!


tonite is Michelle, one of my former co-workers bridal shower/bachelorette type party. it's been a while since I've hit the town but I'm excited!! it'll be fun! we're going to The Lounge tonite which I havent gone in FOREVER!! it'll be fun! I cant wait!! YEAH!

well hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow. . .I have TONS of grading to do! yeah! LOL...oh boy! hopefully I wont die!! =)

oh yeah, happy hour success!! the bartender at Champ's kinda knows us now. . .it's kinda hokey because I've never cared for that kinda stuff before but he's kinda cute and funny. . .it helps to know people BEHIND the bar =) he gave us free drinks. . .YEAH!! =)

World Series Game 3, Houston

So it's 1am and the game is still going on in Minute Maid Park. OMG am I tired!! the game is currently int he top of the 14th and I've been ready to pass out since about the 10th inning!! (it doesn't sound that long ago but it is!!) so far, this has become the longest WS game ever!! the 'stros have their rookie pitcher in and he's not doing too hot right now. White Sox are leading 6-5. I'm hoping they don't win so that the series goes 3-0. that would suck!!

some random things that have happened but I forgot/didn't write about:
*Tabitha said "shopping" the other day. I nearly DIED!! it was INSANE! I mean, of all things, she says SHOPPING!!! hahahahahaha KILLER!!
*I tried to win U2 tickets earlier today. it didnt happen!

(this just in...they just walked another run in...its now 7-5. 2 walks in a row leads to another rin. this is NO GOOD!!)

*UT is ranked #1 in the BCS polls. . . its amazing what computers can do! All I care is that UT is 1/2. Doesn't matter to me!! the true standing will be establish when they play it out in the Rose Bowl (which I want to go to!)
*Depeche Mode is coming soon! I'm looking into gettin tickets to Jason Mraz, Simple Plan and maybe TransSiberian Orchestra. Not sure yet but its something to look into!
*I love happy hours at Champps!! too bad I'm not a fan of the white chocolate martini. if i want something like that, i'll just shake some vodka in my milk. LOL

I'm tired...will I make it?? I dont know...will just have to see! Middle of the 14th inning...CMON 'STROS!! I'll update when the game is over...

Weekend Update

another weekend of sports. . of course!! the weather was great and I enjoyed it by sitting outside from time to time with Tabs but thats about it.

UT(2) vs Texas Tech(10)
So Tech is never usually ranked this high and I was actually nervous about the game!! I mean, TT needs to be given some credit! they're a good team and it just depends on what they pull out on whether they'll do well. it seems though that Texas had more!! it began bad for Texas, with Vince throwing two early interceptions but after he found good ole Selvin Young, it was on!!

Selvin was ON FIRE!!

The game was AWESOME! UT won 52-17. Another win for UT, another step closer to the Rose Bowl. maybe I need to plan a trip out to Pasadena, CA during break!! =)

On the other hand, it hasn't been as good of a weekend for the Astros. They are now coming back to Houston 0-2 behind the White Sox. I hope it'll be better in Houston. Well it's late. I'm not going to go into too much now. I can always save it for tomorrow. Nite

ASTROS WIN!!

It may have taken another year and 6 games but the Astros won and are FINALLY going to the World Series, the first time in franchise history!! The good guys beat the Cardinals in St. Louis 5-1. Go 'stros!! Time to take out the White Sox for the Pennant!!!

Roy Oswalt was a champion has he pitched for 7 innings, showing his constant domination. Qualls continued his good work to help out the 'Stros! The amazing work between the guys, old and young, allowed for the team to continue on the amazing season they have endured!! The best part is that the teams long time players, Biggio and Bagwell, have a chance at a pennant, each being with the team 18 and 15 years, respectively!

Tomorrow I'm going to get my tshirt. I wanted to go tonight, the line wasn't that long but I wasn't really planning to wait an hour on a school night! Now lines are MUCH longer!! FUNNNNN!!

Being sick SUX. . .

so I've been sick all weekend. it sucks!! to be honest, I've been super active despite feelilng crappy. i need to get some thank you gifts for the two people that covered for me on Friday. i owe them BIG!! it always sucks having to give up your off period. i know i use to hate doing that!!

despite being sick all weekend, since i kept active, I didnt get to see as many games as i wanted. UT beat Colorado and USC BARELY beat Notre Dame. I wish I had seen both games!! I have a feeling that UT might play Colorado for the Big 12 Championship unless Nebraska actually has a chance. i might have to look into getting Big 12 tickets since ive heard the game is here in Houston. something to look into!!

the astros won again tonight. they're now 3-1 in the series against the Cardinals. if they win tomorrow, it'll be the first world series the 'stros have ever been to!! that's freaking AWESOME!!

i just wanted to say. . .i LOVE stephen!! he's freakin hilarious. i wish he lived in Houston. we'd have so much fun hanging out! he's such a pimp!! he needs to transfer to UH or something so he can be closer to me and be my other hang out buddy!! =)

Weekend Update!

Saturday - was GREAT!! Went to Astroworld with my sister since one of my mom's friends had free tickets! We had fun but too bad I didn't get to go on ALL the rides! Apparently, when we were high up in the air, my sister realized she was scared of heights! Go figure!! It was kinda sad going there and knowing that it would be closing in the next couple of weeks.

I have to make a nerdy confession though. I sat there on most of the rides thinking of how I could relate it to physics and my class. LOL. NERD!! (yes yes I know!!) It's all good though. Maybe it'll make sense to the kids one day. I did see one of my students while I was in line for Ultra Twister but I didnt want to make this big deal to say hi. I'll tell him on Monday. I'm sure he'll enjoy that one!

So Saturday was also the Red River Shootout. I would like to announce that after FIVE LONG YEARS, UT is VICTORIOUS!!!

The final score was 45-12. I was pure elation!! I kinda wish I had gone to Dallas with Ricky now! I'm sure it was TONS of fun. He always has fun at games and why not!! Thats the whole point!! YEAH!! =) When they say "In Vince we trust," they're not kidding!!

HOOK'EM!!

Sunday- OMG, let's just say that it goes from a high point to a low point. I woke up early and was planning to go get curtains and run some other errands with the family. Unfortunately though I was in an accident. I was driving down Westhiemer, BARELY passing by Academy when a group of kids were running across the street. Unfortunately I didnt see them at first but when I did, I broke and the kid hit my car. . .HARD!! He hit my passager side, knocking off my mirror, denting my front fender and cracking my paint/fender. It totally freaked me out because one of the other kids had screamed so I had though the kid who hit me was seriously injured. Of course, he wasn't. I called the cops and the kids left. Thank goodness I had two other witnesses, gentlemen who were quite helpful. What really pissed me off was the two little girls that were with the boys came back to the same location we were at with the intent to jaywalk AGAIN after what happened!! Luckily for me, no one was injured. It just pisses me off that the kid was so stupid to run out in the middle of traffic like that!! It was five of them!!

So in the end, my car is messed up, I have to pay for it (unless I want my insurance to go up) and the kid walks away with nothing but an interesting story (and hopefully a good ass beating from his mom.) It's moment like these where I sit there and think where were the parents in this situation and kids like that aren't going to last long in the world.

It makes me also start to think that I'm suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. I may be seeking a doctor for some type of drugs soon or taking a couple of MH (mental health) days. I'm not a fan of freaking out and going crazy. Been there, done that. . not really feeling it again!!

MORE SPORTS NEWS!! ASTROS beat the Braves in 18 innings going into history books for the longest post season game (almost 6 hrs!) Chris Burke hit an amazing home run in the bottom of the 18th and it was over!! It was insane!! The final score, 7-6. Wednesday they face the Cardinals to compete for the NL Championship!!

GO 'STROS! ALL THE WAY TO THE PENNANT!!!!

With that note, I'm gonna sign off. I'm going a little batty not having my powrbook but at the same time, I realize I'm never actually at my computer IMing that much so its no biggie. I just miss the freedom to check my shit whenever I want.

CONCERT !!!
So I'm planning on going to Depeche Mode with Gus and Gypsy. Anyone else want to go?? The Bravery are suppose to open up for them that night. I just got their CD and it's AWESOME!! They have a similar sound to The Killers and stuff like that. GOOD STUFF!! Concert is Monday, November 7 at the Toyota Center. If anyone wants to go, tell me!! I plan on buying tickets soon!!
Just in case you're wondering, we'll be chilling in the nosebleed section! =) $50 plus all that other crap!! If you want to sit LOWER (notice NOT closer!), it'll be $75!! So I'll be okay with hearing them live!! =)

BOO...hoo

Okay so I'm pretty much set on the idea that I'm not in a happy mood. I'm borderline "hand me my Prozac prescription please" right now. It really didn't hit me till last night when I was lying in bed. I just realized "man, I'm just not happy!" I don't really know what the deal is to be honest. I'm starting to think that all of life's daily stresses are starting to beat at me and pound me into the ground. I told Gypsy today that I think I've come to the the little bump in my life where I really wish I had that constant guy in my life again. I miss having a rock to come back to. To be completely honest, all of my rocks have been anything but constant, consistent, steady. If anything, they were always unreliable but the one thing was that made it important to me was that they were there. hmph! Nowadays, I cant even manage to PRETEND to keep something steady. I'm feeling soo torn about so many things. I just want to find someone who can take care of me when I'm down.

Sometimes, I just wish I had a guy to just give me a hug when I need it. I think that's what I miss the most. When I do get it, I never really want it to end.

Technological Difficulty

So my Powerbook is temporarily in a COMA! =( It's been making this HORRIBLE noise, kinda like a blender, making my brother believe that something's wrong with my hard drive or my fans. I called up Apple tech support today and basically I'm going to be mailing in my laptop in the next couple of days. I'm really sad because I'm probably going to lose EVERYTHING on there: all the pictures (basically of Tabitha and Angelina), music, lessons, ect. I'm trying to see if the computer will start back up one more time for its last hurrah but it's not happening. I'm actually taking it pretty well, the demise of my Powerbook, especially for the level of loss I'm about to experience. So it'll probably be a while before I get back online. . .probably a week or so. This could be a tough week! Rest assure I will be online to check email and updating from time to time. I have a code to check up on my laptop once it goes to Apple for repairs. Hopefully I won't lose everything but I'm not going to be so optimistic. I'll be sure to update whenever I find out new things.

Untitled. . .

so this weekend hasn't been bad. I had (basically) a 2 day work week, only because I spent Thursday in SAP training. I was WAY tired last night. I passed out after watching Sex and the City. Good stuff! I had already seen the shower. Sometimes I wonder the same things as that show. For example, like Charlotte, I gave up on the dream life:dream house, dream man, dream job, a long time ago. It's something weird. OH WELL!!

Well I went out tonight which was fun! I went to the Taiko performance at Miller Outdoor and met Bill. He's pretty cool. It was kinda awkward at times because we didn't talk but that was okay since we were both watching/listening to the performances. He's cute. He's this tall hybrid. I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say he's half white and chinese/japanese/something!! He'll be going out the next 2 weekends so I don't I'll be hearing from him much. In a weird way he kinda reminds me of Doug. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. Hopefully it doesn't become a BAD thing. He's quite a party guy though. I'm envious but I dont think I could keep up!! (It's weird even writing that down because I NEVER thought I wouldn't be able to keep up with someone!!)

Ricky and I hung out afterwards. I'm soo glad I have a friend like him that I can go out with. It's nice being able to spend time with someone who's known you forever. There's some type of safety there. AMAZING!!

On the flip side: UT beat Missouri today, 51-20. WAHOOO!! This weekend is OU who beat Kansas St this weekend. Florida lost to Alabama so that'll shuffle things up quite a bit. I was pretty surprised that LSU only dropped one spot after losing to Tennessee who only moved up one to 9th. SHOCKING! If nothing shuffles, it'll stay USC, Texas, Virgina Tech, LSU for the top 4. Unfortunately I don't know who's next but who cares!! OU is officially this coming weekend. I don't think I'm going but if anything, I plan to sit and watch at home during those hours and do NOTHING but watch the game!1 YEAH!! FUN!! =)
